The Denton County Foster Parent Association (DCFPA) offers assistance to caregivers whose often difficult mission is to foster and adopt abused and neglected children.  This non-profit, volunteer run organization, in partnership with child welfare professionals, champions child safety and welfare through advocacy and education.

Our outreach programs include, but are not limited to:

    Continuing education and training for foster and adoptive parents
    Recruitment and retention of foster and adoptive parents
    Education of the community on the needs of children in foster and adoptive families

DCFPA holds monthly meetings every second Saturday, from 10am to 12noon.  We meet at the First Baptist Church in Denton (1100 Malone Street, Denton, TX  76201).

Each meeting includes a three-hour training presentation, for which each person attending receives three credits toward yearly license renewal requirements.
